Re: I love convoluted German sentences

Like this one: Wenn vorn die Leuchtkugeln auszugehen drohen, auf deren Zeichen die Infanterie wie die Artillerie angewiesen ist, so weiß jeder Frontsoldat, aus welcher schweren eigenen Bedrohung heraus solche Notsignale abgegeben werden, und ebenso weiß jeder, wie dem hart kämpfenden Soldaten bei s...

Re: "naval infantrymen": marines...

I seem to recall that the German navy of WWII had a few units of "marines," not armed sailors but naval infantrymen. A quick search in this forum reveals previous discussions on this theme, which might reveal information of interest  http://www.feldgrau.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&...

Re: Hitler's Pre-Emptive War

I've read it, and enjoyed it. Most of the book is dedicated to the Battles for and around Narvik. Could have used a little more detail on the areas outside of Narvik. The author states in the Preface and Acknowledgements that: The focus of this book was originally on military operations in and arou...

Re: HeeresGroup B translation

Hi!

I think you are correct in your assumptions of the meaning of the terms used.

I can do a translation of the terms used:
a) Zugeführt - added/brought in
b) Takt. Verwendung - tactical use
c) Geplante Eingliederung - Planned incorporation
