Re: Book on CD-Rom: Knight's Cross Holders - SS & German Police

No good reason, now that you mention it. And maybe that caveat is the reason NO ONE is expressing interest.

Many thanks, and I'll correct that.

Re: Cavalry Ostubaf. Hermann Gadischke & the DKiG

Thank you, RN.

It's all so clear now that I look at it again; don't know why I couldn't make out those simple letters ("Grd.")

Re: Cavalry Ostubaf. Hermann Gadischke & the DKiG

Very interesting documents, as usual, John. Thanks for sharing them. The two investigations against him may have been the very reason he was out of favor with the RFSS; the notes in the Dienststellung column of the Stammkarte indicate "Erm.Verf." (= Ermittlungsverfahren, or preliminary pro...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Mark C Yerger

They've all been wonderful, from the DKiS volume in 2002 through the "Nordland" book- but the Kavallerie volume is the best yet, and the one I've anticipated most. As close to flawless as anything I've ever seen. As in his previous books, Mark goes above and beyond the call of the topic, p...

Re: Third Reich At War by Richard J. Evans

Thank you very much for the review and additional comments. These unnecessary and too-literal translations of Evans are incredibly annoying- in fact, I have a headache after reading the samples you provided. I'm guessing, btw, that he means "Gauleiter" when he writes "Regional Leader....

Re: War crimes during Operation Market-Garden

You've peaked my interest, though I have no information on this; all I'd ever heard of was the chivalry demonstrated by those on the German side toward captured Airborne troops. I'll have to get that book. Absolutely awful and disgusting, if that really happened at Nijmegen (and of course it very we...
