The first 50 pages are talking about the unit history. From Berlin to Lublin, Bielorussia from february 1942 unti...

Re: 31. Infanterie-Division May 1940

Hello Koen,
I just find out (In Peter Taghon's book Mai 1940 or Mei 1940) that the 31. I.D. passed in the vicinity of Ninove.
I didn't found anything about Halle but I am sure that the 31. I.D. passed trough your town.
Kindly regards
Prosper
P.S. Sorry for my poor english.

It's also possible that the river is the Potomac in Washington with the Capitol in the background.

Re: Bridge over the ?

I'm trying to find out, but's not easy. Maybe the five span Palace Bridge over the Neva in St. Petersburg (former Leningrad) in Russia. In the background, the St.Isaac's Cathedral ? Kindly regards. In the background It seems that's the St. Paul's Cathedral.

Re: Translation For Photo Please...

Hello Jim, The translation done by Howard is very well. The name of the place you are looking about must be Elverdinge, spelled Elverdinghe in 1940. This village is located in the belgian province of West-Vlaanderen (West-Flanders) not far away from Ieper (Ypres) A well known town during World War I...
