Hi Marko, I forgot to say thank You for this response about KG Kallien, thanks. I've just recieved a gem regarding conditions at the 298. Inf Div column. In the North Group [Blocco Nord], forces lost soon contact with XXXV Corps Command and had to self -organize. First of all, germans and italians r...

Hi all, nice account of Schuldt's gauntlet, Marko! This is the first time I see a KG Kallien mentioned. Could You please give us some feedback on this unit if You can? Does anyone have info on " Schnee-RäumKp 208 "? TO&E, etc. I have also heard of a " Schnee-RäumKp 211 ", dep...

Hi Michi & Marko, sorry for being a little late with responding, but I'm having a busy week. Abel, how's the translation going on. I'm more or less finished. I'm still working on it. I'm having a hard time, because my German is largely passive at the moment. But, I'm already more than halfway th...

Hi all, while waiting for the translation of the unit histories, I have a little bit to offer to keep this thread running. On 17 December part of the forces of Ravenna ( Capizzi group , made maily by troops of 37 infantry rgt) were separated from the corps, because it had moved towards south-east an...

Hi Lorenz,

thank You!

It seems that F-FAS 40 can be identical with the FAS AOK 6. And it is clear that III/FAS II cannot be. That's much better than were I was before starting this thread, thanks!

Best,

Abel

Hi Lorenz,

thanks for these scraps and bits.

One question only - were these units trapped in Stalingrad? If no - F-FAS 40 could be the killer.

Thanks,

Abel

Hi Michi, yes, it was in that mail, but that was just an ordinary typo, not worth even mentioning. And surely not in that situation. On the other hand, I am convinced in the existence of Flak Schule AOK 6, as confirmed by Wilhelm Adam. The officers' school wasn't part of KG Mikosch; Pi and Flak Schu...

Hi Michi, good to hear of You again. 8) So, Lorenz, our mysterious "sender" has responded to this query. Thanks for the additional input about the FAS III. Michi, Your info has got the following implications: 1.) III/FAS II (and not III), that had fought in Kalach, was trapped at Stalingra...

Hi Lorenz, Flak Schule AOK 6 is mentioned a few times in W. Adam's memoires. Unfortunately, my edition is Hungarian, so I do not know the exact term Adam had used in German but this seemed to be the appropriate traslation. This unit was mobilized at 19/11/42 and along with the Pionier-Schule AOK 6 f...

Hi Lorenz, thanks for the reply - I knew it would be You to answer this query :D It could be that I have a typo in my files (FAS III for FAS II). There was a unit called "Flak Schule AOK 6" under the command of AOK 6 during the Stalingrad battles. Could it be that it was III/FAS II under t...

III./FAS 3

Hi,

I'm looking for information on III./Flak Art Schule 3 during the winter of 42/43. A source suggests the unit was mobilized and had some combat near Kalatsch.

Any info (most of all, name of the commander) would be appreciated (Lorenz, perhaps? :D )

Thanks,

Abel

Hi,

no, I didn't do the typing. I just found a web-site with a few of these reports in PDF format. The link is

http://luftwafferesearcher.homestead.com/Online.html

There aren't too many of them online, but this one is/was and thus gave me the hint about Kantemirowka.

Best,

Hi Lorenz, thanks for taking the time and responding to my query. The connection between LuNa Abt 130 and Kantemirowka is confirmed by an online document considering the losses of the Luftwaffe as of 14/1/43 (click link for a PDF file). A battle, where Luftwaffe ground personnel supported by Heer un...
