Re: You can't beat a bit more Goebbels
Maybe, Howard. The Führer used the word "einstacheln". In Austria this means putting a thorn in something. That´s what a wasp does. Perhaps the Rhinelander Goebbels didn`t understand the Innviertler from Braunau

This had been my first idea too.

Re: Some question on SS.PG division
Hi,
4th SS had been recruited in all ranks of the former "Ordungspolizei". I don`t know how to translate "Ordnungspolizei".

Re: Some question on SS.PG division
Hi Kelvin, the 4th SS recruited their men in the German police: http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gliederungen/SS-Divisionen/SSDivPolizei.htm . In the 11th served mostly scandinavian volunteers. The 17th recruited their volunteers mostly in the HJ and the Napolas. The "men" had been mayb...

Re: 371. Infanterie Division
Hello Janusz! Sorry, but the documentations end in February `43. The 371th ID surrendered as far as I know in April `45 to soviet troops in Silesia. The official documentations are more than rare in Germany from autumn `44 till the end. We had 2.5 million soldiers missing in action, mostly in the ea...

Hello Manfred! You should buy "Die Anlagenbänder zu den Kriegstagebüchern der 6. Armee" from Florian von und zu Aufseß, Selbstverlag Schwabach 2006 or David M. Glantz: Armageddon in Stalingrad: September-November 1942 (The Stalingrad Trilogy, Volume 2). University of Kansas Press, Lawrence...

It`s a pleasure, Richard.
I wonder how You will manage to translate "rassisches Volk". Even in German it`s completely nonsense.

Re: You can't beat a bit of Goebbels
Hi Richard,
I´ll try it: You have to ask yourself astonished how Stalin was able to develop (or to bring forward) this nation.... No scorn but surprise over the huge ressources of an "Untermenschen"-Nation in case of emergency.

Re: You can't beat a bit of Goebbels
Hello Richard,
although I can`t imagine Goebbels talking in a positive way of Stalin, please tell me the next one or two sentences of the diary entry.
