Ostuf Pehrsson, Battr.Führ. 3./ SS-A.R. 11 ???
Hi all, I am working on the casualtylist for both Nordland and Nederland, using at least 4 sources (T311 R105 HGr. Nord, T312 R1629 Narwa, T312 R1635 Narwa and T312 R971, AOK 18), and am experiencing some difficulties. Let's start with the Ustuf Pehrsson, leicht verwundet on 17.1.1944 as the Batteri...

Re: panzerschrek in Type 44 pz. div.
From what I have found so far in files of units from the eastern front, a typical division (either Infantry, Jäger, Panzergrenadier and Panzer) should have 30 Panzerschrecks each. Where they were distributed I don't know. Why those weapons were not listed in the SOLL, I don't know either. They were ...

Re: Late war "very heavy" machine gun units
Gary, To my knowledge, only the 78. Sturm-Division was issued with a platoon of 2cm Erdkampflafetten in each of the heavy/support companies. I also know that at least one other (smaller) unit had some of those guns. If I am not mistaken, it was the Sturm-Batallion AOK 9 (no connection with the 78. S...

Looking for Meldungen
Hi all, I am looking for Meldungen of all kind of smaller sized Heerestruppen, such as Nachschub-Abteilungen, Fahr-Abteilungen, Kfz.-Instandsetzungstruppen, Stellungsbau-Pionier-Batallione and if possible, any kind of Nachrichten units too. Timeframe: up until September 1944. Any kind of information...

Re: Real organisation of the 9. SS-Panz.Div. (1.6.44)
Kelvin, The authorized number was 18x 251/9, on 1.6.1944 they had 14 on hand. Just like on 30.4.1944 and 15.5.1944. No, the numbers are not split up in subunits. The actual organisation of the 10. SS was very simular to the 9. SS, also using the old 1941 and 1942 KStN for the majority of their units...

Mattias,
The T43 was the T34 with a new turret and enlarged gun. Or, in other words, what we call the T34/85 today.

19. and 20. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS (5 sept. 44)
Hi all, Based upon a theoretical strength report from the SS-FHA (which was not identical to the theoretical strength of the real units in the field) as of 5 September 1944, the 19. and 20. Waffen-Grenadier-Divisionen der SS had the following authorized menpower: 473 Führer 2587 Unterführer 9761 Man...

Re: My trip to NARA (College Park)
Hi all, Before I start writing about my latest trip to the Bundesarchiv-Militärarchiv, I have to thank Tom P. for asking me to do so :-) Thanks Tom :-) Due to some reasons I had to plan my annual trip to Freiburg in 1 day, instead of the usual 5 days. So, I had to prepare as good as I could and orde...

Re: Oberst Witt, Stopak 2.Armee in 1945
Jan-Hendrik, The Oberstleutnant Witt was already the Stopak of the 2. Armee in 1944. I have him listed in the Stellenbesetzung of the Armee as of 9.3.1944, 15.5.1944 and 15.8.1944. It seems he got promoted along the way to Oberst. By the way, he had to perform his task as Stabsoffizier für Panzerbek...

Re: My trip to NARA (College Park)
Next thursday, I will be going to the Bundesarchiv-Militärarchiv in Freiburg. Only one day, more free time is not allowed by Her In Command :-) Due to a major rebuilding of the old reading room, the reading room has been moved up in the flat ("Hochhaus"), limiting the number of researchers...

On 1 June 1944, the 212.
