I haven't seen the film in quite a while, so it's probably not verbatim, but it's pretty close. Jurgen Prochnow in Das Boot. When the officers are listening to a speech on the radio, he comments on Berlin's view of Churchill. "What are they calling him now? 'drunken paralytic'... He's putting u...

Interesting read. Certainly proves that everyone gets their hands dirty in war.

Pre-war appeasement. 'Peace in Our Time', etc. Dunkirk. Imagine what a disaster this would have been for the Brits. Germans diverting armoured spearhead from Army Group Centre to assist in enveloping Kiev pocket in 1941. They probably would have taken Moscow if they hadn't lost valuable weeks elsewh...

I have a good relationship with the owner of my LHS. I've made some substaintial purchases there ($1000 for a Tamiya 1/16 Tiger I RC tank, and $2500 for Tamiya's 1/14 RC semi tractor, trailer, and 'extras'). The nice thing is, I can take the payments over a few months, interest free as well. I'll bu...

It's discouraging to see that most model manufacturers now omit historically accurate details from kits, such as the swastika and ss runes. Even the cornerstone of military modelling (Tamiya) no longer includes helmet decals...

Papaman, Very eloquently stated post. As you stated, one of England's greatest warrior kings (HenryV) put 1200-1800 French prisoners to death at Agincourt. Not particularly out of malice, but he feared his small army could be overtaken if the French decided to charge their captors en-masse. As for t...

Noones opinions? Am I to assume noone has any opinions on this? TS Allen As for Hans, how do you feel about people who build scale models, are they sick and immoral too? What about the people who digg for WWII relics in formerbattlefields, collectors of WWII stuff... all pretenders? I think not... ...
