Later, I find that the Waffen-SS was primarily was to conduct an anti-Communist crusade. Could someone please enlighten me? The W...

Sure it existed. But with less panache and bells than the usual paranoid media/writers make it appear to be. Had a good chat with one of the people involved a few days ago. But technically nobody is advised to speak about this.

Dag Nathalie, The Truppenteil here is; 2.Kompanie/SS-Freiwilligen-Legion ,,Flandern''. The FP-number is matching. Naturally this wasn't a division, by military standards a reinforced (upgraded with heavy weapons) batalion. Of in 't schoon Vloms: een versterkt bataljon. 22.06.1942 was a crucial day f...

Sorry to bring this up again but this is regarding being a member of the party as a qualification to be an officer in the SS. I might be wrong but I do not believe that it was mandatory to be a member of the party to be in the SS or to be an officer in the SS. Here is some evidence to support my cl...

Re: Warcrimes and historians

Uncle Joe, I congratulate you on your contributions in this thread, especially the remark that most of the people here are nothing more but anglo-american civilians born way after the war. Basically, this means your basic average cheese sandwich has about the same authority. How much turned out to b...

Hi Gerhard, I was going to leave this self pitying thread to trundle along on its own self absorbed course, but your reference to me I take as an invitation. So, the essence of your personal experience in the Waffen-SS was that it was all somebody else's fault: "The fact is, we were victimised...
