Most certainly the Handschar, which other SS unit had problems with wide scale mutiny during their training. It led to several instructors (as far as I know LSSAH members) beeing killed! Most gruesome and brutal Waffen SS unit "award" (I consider this as negative) would certainly go to the...

At first I have to admit, that I have not seen this type of eagle before, but I don´t think that it is a german eagle, as first the head is pointing in the oposite direction, and secondly the wings are different to the "regular" eagles. Most postwar productions usually look exactly like th...

Hi,

I am pretty sure of having read that the original award Rudel received was
destroyed during an air raid in Jan. ´45.

As far as I know Rudel was wearing a reproduction himself, as did many others in day by day use.
What happend to this (probably equally of value) I do not know.

There is not much I know either.

It fired the standard round 7,92mm
It used a mag simular to the Mp44.

Only a few were in use in april/may ´45.

There is a picture of it in the book "Handbuch der Wehrmacht 39-45" by James Lucas, but unfortunately my scanner has decided to give up on me!

As far as I know they were members of the 33. Waffen Grenadierdivision der SS "Charlemagne".

This unit was also the last defending the Reichskanzlei.

U-Boot attack Aruba

I was asked by a friend, who recently visited Aruba, if I knew,
which U-Boot attacked Aruba in WWII.

I am pretty sure that it was U-156 under the command of Hartenstein,
but I am unsure if any other U-Boot operated in and around Aruba and
attacking the oil refinery.

Thanks for your help.
