You may well be correct but it would be nice to have a few more details of why you think so.

Re: Help with Japanese handwriting?

If you don't get any help here you might ask over on j-aircraft there are several people there that are familiar with Kanji. My understanding is that WWII era Kanji is a bit different than modern though so it may be problematic.

Re: Fuel type

A while back when I was looking at German trucks I noticed that about half (that's types not numbers) seam to have been diesel. The E or Shnellboats were also diesel I believe. Most US tanks sent to the USSR were also diesel. As far as burning goes from the numbers I've seen German tanks were just a...

Re: Casualty and Replacement Figures WW2

I'd check out hyperwar as they have a lot of original documents. The US numbers should be fairly easy to come by and I think the German and British as well. I know a lot of Japanese records were destroyed though so that will likely be problematic. In China's case my impression is that there were a f...

Re: Casualty and Replacement Figures WW2

Replacements maybe problematic. Not sure if the defintion is consistent across nations either. What exactly is meant by a replacement may be an open question as well. Do you mean troops that were raised and sent to the theater as replacements only? What if a formation was disbanded and its members r...

There is some info here:

Looks like it may depend on where you are to at least some extent and of course what you want to do with them.

Re: Simple question about German gun sizes.

I'm pretty sure I remember reading somewhere that there is some slight variation from one country to the next in just how the "caliber" is measured as well. I forget the details though.
found it. This page addresses it:

Re: Combat vehicles: track or rubber?...

... But rubber-wheeled vehicles seem more fitted for the present in that they are easier to ship to areas of concern and more mobile in the field. Wheeled vehicles being "more mobile in the field" is certainly a disputeable statement. They are better on roads and on a few types of terrain...

Re: Air Plane Kill Marks

It's my understanding that even the definition of "kill" varied somewhat. I read somewhere that destroying a plane on the ground didn't count as a kill in the Pacfic but it did for 8th AF. I'm not sure about the med. Furthermore in the navy I think the kills were associated with the plane ...

Re: Luftwaffe Flight From Russia to China.

Not so much relating to Junkers aircraft however it is well known that at least one Fw200K and possibly three examples operated to Harbin Manchuria from Petsamo Finland up to 1944, operated by Kommando Rowehl 1.(F)/Ob.d.L (Luftflotte 2) - predecessor to KG200. Interesting. Well known? A quick searc...

Re: Luftwaffe Flight From Russia to China.

Independent of what LWD? ??? Are you really that unfamiliar with the terminology? If so it brings any analysis you've performed to question. Here is an example: Individual A reports that xxx is on yyy. Individual B reads A's report and writes it up in his blog. Individual C reads 's report as well ...
