Re: Kradführer issued or carrying pistol as sidearm?

The time it would have taken to unsling his rifle is nothing compared to the lack of range and accuracy he would have if armed with a pistol.

If they are Charlgemagne then you know they are NOT panzergrenadiers.

Re: Units of the LSSAH?

Do you have access to Google or some other search engine ? If so you should try something like "Units of the LAH", they didn't use the SS in their abbreviation so no need for us to, and see how much information comes up. It would also help if you put in specific dates as the unit in questi...

Re: German Equipment in N.Afrika 1941-2

Raul, I've never believed that this particular photograph was taken in Africa. However there was at least one SdKfz 247 in Africa with 5th Light/21 Panzer Division's Recce Bn.

Re: PzKpfw III Ausf F

Raúl, as you now know from else where this is in fact a Tauchpanzer IIIAusf G. The framing around the mantlet and hull MG are the indicators for this. Also there were no Ausf L fitted with the short 50mm gun and neither did they have the vision posts on the turret sides.

Re: Panzer Abteilung Sardinien

In August 1943 Panzer Abeitlung 190 had one Light and two Medium Companies and reported having 1 x Pz III short 5cm (which I would assume was a command tank), 20 x Pz III 7,5cm and 37 x Pz IV Long.

Re: Panzer Abteilung Sardinien

According to Panzer Truppen 2 the Abteilung was formed in early May 1943 with two companies and a total strength of 14 x Pz III and 10 x Pz IV. It became Panzer Abteilung 190 on 6th July 1943 when it was expanded to three companies.

Re: Which PzKpfw II

If it was December 1941 then the only Panzer II variant in production at that time was the F, so if the tanks were new, and why wouldn't they be, then they were probably F's.

Re: 4. (Panzer) Kompanie / schw. Ski-Batallion 1

I try to find " Gazelle" RSO with 4.7 cm Pak data, but I cannot find about " Gazelle " Did Gazelle panzerjager was existed ? Did Jan 1 1945 report mention whether this divison still had RSO tank destroyer ? Kelvin, if you would reread the post about the Gazelle you'd find that i...
