Re: Forthcoming JJF: 23. Panzer-Division/Rebentisch
I have browsed the book a bit and it looks extremely well done! As it is a copy of a fellow enthusiast I have not read it in detail but the first impressions are most promising. As I have mentionedbefore, I simply love the new JJF layout, i.e. new, smaller font that is very easy to read, very econom...

Re: The Tank Battle at Praga/Norbert Bacyk
Well, I have now taken a first look at the book. I have not read the text in detail, but it looks quite well done. Production wise, the book is a bag a contradictions. First, I like the overall layout very much plus the very readable font is small enough for me and the is no wasted space. Paper is d...

Re: "Tiger" by Rüdiger Warnick and Stephan Cazenave
This is Heimdal's latest production : a 496 page book on the Tigers of Das Reich and of s.SS-Pz.Abt.102/502. It is the same subject as Schneider's but a lot better, more accurate, more documented : there are hundreds (!) of previously unpublished photos and countless accounts by former members of t...

Re: Hitler, Doeniz and the Baltic Sea: Third Reich's Last Hope
I´d ignore whatever Robert Jackson says. He seems to be one of those authors who write on everything and everything they write is very shallow. I took a look at the specific book of his and it seemed very, very shallow and basically useless.

Re: Review: Double Fighter Knight
And as for the English edition, apparently the publisher aimed the book for half blind readers for the font is bloody large:(

Re: Review: Double Fighter Knight
Rumour has it that the book was originally ghostwritten, a practice I really hate.

Re: Beevor´s D-day book reviews
That´s not the point. The point is the relation of forces to frontal width and to enemy forces. I take Ahto´s analysis over one by a Roosevelt-Churchill fan club member any time. As Colonel Ahto wrote: What do you call it when somebody repeats 60 years old propaganda as facts?

Beevor´s D-day book reviews
When reading amazon.co.uk´s reviews on the above mentioned "book", one is left with impression that even supposedly specialist reviewers like a "Simon Trew" completely miss the main art of war lesson of the Normandy Campaign: that completely overwhelmed Germans managed to keep th...

The book I refer to has not been delayed. See e.g. Stone´s site or www.aberdeenbookstore.com/whatsnew.htm In fact, it has been available for several days now.
