I dont know much about the NSB or their members. What was told to me in history classes is that v Tonningen was the most influancial man in the NSB. Although Mussert was the leader, he was just a puppet. You can read a story from the widow of v Tonningen here: http://www.vho.org/GB/Journals/JHR/9/4/...

Enhancing wont work with these images, I tried that in Photoshop already. A high-res picture is needed to do such actions. I dont believe its St. Sever though. St. Sever is a small village with typical houses. Check their webpage for reference. Its prob. not in Holland because of the kerbs. Could be...

Thx Christoph, that clears some things up.

I know they had 'runners' with food canteens. Was this soldier part of the Kuche or was it a soldier from the platoon itself running to the kuche and back. And for ammo the same question... Are there btw foto's of 'ammo' carriers around?

Cheers
Erwin

How did the soldiers get new ammo in combat? It must run out once in a while. Was there some kind of 'runner', and were did he belong to? The rifle squad itself? And who gave the order to re-supply, the group leader or someone higher in command? Also what kind of unit is de 'gefechtswagen'. I presum...

I dont think the Gerat itself was not used on ground fire. Arty pieces are behind the front, most of the time hidden. So the target was not visible, and thus the Gerat was useless. As far as I know the arty didnt even had a Gerat. Im not sure, but I suspect they didnt even had a range finder. Anti-t...

The Ardennes is packed with good museums to. Bastogne or La Gleize for example. Also the Dutch Overloon museum and the Airborne museum in Oosterbeek are pretty good to.
