I dont know much about the NSB or their members. What was told to me in history classes is that v Tonningen was the most influancial man in the NSB. I dont think the Gerat itself was not used on ground fire. Arty pieces are behind the front, most of the time hidden. So the target was not visible, and thus the Gerat was useless.
