Re: Wanted: Halder, Zeitzler & Warlimont Journals

Karl Klee's Unternehmen Seelöwe, second volume has a large part of Halder's diary. I do not remember if it goes beyond the scope of the subject, I have mislaid that volume.

Re: Trip to the Ardennes

Hi, Mark, Bastogne is worthwhile. Just my opinion. You have the large US monument outside the town. On the top of it there are metal maps in the different directions where the positions of the various teams are marked out. There is a little museum by the monument and another small one inside the tow...

Re: M35 minesweepers

Just got some good pictures of a M35 model made by Fuzzy over at Forum.Marinearchiv. These confirm my suspicion that the M35 had a proper fire control system with a dedicated Fire Control Officer position. What is lacking on this model is the stand-detachable night vision optics. It can be seen on t...

Re: German World War II Memoires and Diaries

Persuaded by my good friend and after I have personally convinced myself how it is sometimes hard to find some first hand accounts or memoires I have decided to start making on this forum an on-going project about listing as many German World War 2 memoires and diaries as I can find. I start today ...

Re: Maps for Seelöwe

Sorry, I have to give you this one, too..... ...then my time is out, I have to keep on with my new projects now. Where is the insult? Sophistry - a subtle, tricky, superficially plausible, but generally fallacious method of reasoning. You have taken two completely unrelated events - British a...

Are my numbers wrong....? As always, you avoid the question and the point. Sophistry isn't analysis. Cheers! I have read what you have written and I have no obligations to comment on them. I also react to your constant insults. Are my numbers wrong? See, just a question - no insult. It is possible.

Actually I won't because I have no intention of buying your book or obtaining it through other means for that matter. The combination of continuous bias and this marketing campaign have convinced me that it's of little value. I am sorry about that. As a matter of fact I don't think my bias is any w...

Re: Maps for Seelöwe

I also note earlier I questioned the 3,200 modified barges. This is a lot more than I have seen anywhere else. Indeed in this thread: http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=119663&start=30&hilit=sea+lion you mention 2,400 modified barges. That posting is 4 years ago.....I might be wrong,...

Re: Maps for Seelöwe

In my book I have lined it up like this: This is the kind of thing that gives me gas. Need to justify a crackpot assumption – that an ad hoc conglomeration of AA guns in ad hoc mountings on an ad hoc flotilla floating off the British Isles will shoot down all and sundry aircraft the RAF sends again...
