Brückenbau in Idar-Oberstein, which unit?

Some time ago I bought a little album with 30 pics. These were taken in Idar-Oberstein between December (?) 1939 and (at least) Februari 1940. The pics show men who were building a wooden bridge. I've posted a set of ten pics on my FB-page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mijn-opa-was-een-Duitser/2854...

Re: Killing of Wehrmacht soldiers in T4 Action?

In november last year I bought 'Der Arzt von Hartheim', written by Mireille Horsinga-Reno. In this book she writes about her uncle, Georg Reno, who was involved in the T-$ killings in Schloss Hartheim. I've read about half of the book, but nothing about killing German soldiers yet.

Re: Vermisstenbildliste DRK SO III

No help there from me, Tom, sorry! :( Last friday I did some research at the Red Cross. I checked the files of the missing Dutch NSKK-men. I ran into small tragedies: a woman looking for her husband, a dad looking for his son, a nephew looking for an uncle, etc. All of these men were gone: 'maybe in...

Killing of Wehrmacht soldiers in T4 Action?

At the moment I am reading Werner Maser Hitler, Legend myth reality (the badly translated version in Dutch). At page 250 Maser mentions Hadamar in Hessen, where German Wehrmacht soldiers were killed. Maser states he investigated this somewhere in 1971. He writes about military personal without arms ...

Re: NSKK schoulderboard branch color

Good question! The Dutch wore red as far as I know. DId you check on sites like tweedehands.be? I've seen a few replica-eagles for sale on these sites. I tried to look this up in the archives, found nothing. But an eagle gave the answer for the Dutch NSKK-men.

Hope it helps a bit!

Books on Gestapochief Müller?

Hello all, I just took a small look through the books which are listed on the website of Bender Publishing. I saw vol. I and III of Heinrich Müller interogations in Washington (one was amed Washington 1947). ANybody read those books? It seems a bargain if these books are real, around $35 each. In re...

Re: Axis soldiers shot by Western Allies for sabotage 1940-1947

In march 1945,the new burgomaster of Aachen(occupird by the allies) was killed by a special commando of the SS(he was ,following the German law,a traitor). After the war,the members of the commando were judged (but I don't know if they were executed). That was an action of 'Wehrwolf', a small group ...

Re: I can read German, but this...

Thanks a lot! I had a laugh about the Seehund, I'm wondering where they shot this animal, they can't be found at the coast anymore. But since no one lived near the see in 1943, they might have returned or been there.

Nice he was writting about food.

Re: Maxium age for conscripts...

My grandfather was drafted in the spring of 1940, around april or may. He was born in august 1908, so he was 31 when he went to the army. He was a German btw and served in the Heer.

I can read German, but this...

Hi all,

Yes, I can read German. No problem. But this letter... If anyone can 'translate' this one, thanks! It was written bij a member of the Nachschub btl. 347, part of the 347. ID, stationed in and around Alkmaar.
