Re: And now back to a bit of Goebbels

Hi Richard,
You sure know how to pick them, mate. I tend to agree with hero. I would personally translate it thus: "However, it's currently not entirely out of the question, as such a plan is being considered by various proponents."

Regenbö = rain-squall.
Therefore: "Through the rain-squall noticed a gun at stern".

I thinks that sometimes we get caught up with words, when it's really the idea that counts.

Re: Feldlazarett 671. - Information needed

Thank you Matthias, I will send the info. to my friend in Bad Berneck who like me has been looking for his father for many years. Only info. WAS[t] has is that he was last seen in Feldlazarett 671. in Feb. 1945. However they had no information as to where this was.

To the best of my knowledge it insinuates that Europe can move forward, it being secure following the resolution of the problem in the east.

Feldlazarett 671. - Information needed

Is anyone able to provide me with ANY information on Feldlazarett 671. Of particular importance is it's whereabouts in February 1945. But anything at all will help.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Hitler, his inner circle, and grammar

"Röhm in fact is the only political associate known to have called Hitler by the familiar 'du'".

Source: James Taylor and Warren Shaw, A Dictionary of the Third Reich, Grafton Books, 1987, p. 276.

Must say that it didn't do him much good.

"This is something only the devil enjoys."
"The things the devil has fun with."

Once you untwist the sentence it really only says, "What a bastard."

Re: Kurt Himer, Soldier and Diplomat

Although Himer lost a leg by amputation as a result of being wounded by ship artillery bombardment at Wladislawowka on 21.3.1942 his wounds were not life threatening. He died in Kriegslazarett 2./610 in Simferopol on 4.4.1942 because he simply lost the will to live resulting from depression as a res...

WAS[t] records should show when the award was made. Damned inconvenient though as the records don't show the reason for the award.
