Let's revive this thread once more. I thought I have already submitted the 2nd part of the 298. I.D. KTB a long time ago, but it seems that not... So here it comes. -------------------------------------------- 7.1.43. 00.28: To the Heeresgruppenintendant B: if warehouses weren't destroyed, the provi...

Oberst Bingmann

Hi!

Could anyone tell me which unit did Oberst Friedrich Bingmann command during early 1943? He was an officer of the Pioniere, never reached the rank of a general, and was on a tour of duty at the southern part of the eastern front during the timeframe.

Your help would be appreciated!

Hi David, perhaps the gemischte Flak-Abteilung 125 (v), plus Teile II./Flak-Lehr-Regiment (le. mot.), both being Lw Flak units. Michi, as I've never been a Flak expert, I'll wait for the "other" list and see if I have any other units. I have got units with different numbering as in the first list, b...

Hi Hans! 10/44, the II. and III. bns of the SS Pol Reg 1 were transferred to SS Pol Reg 6; but they practically remained with their old HQ at Budapest. The remaining bn of the SS Pol Reg 1, as well as the remaning two bns of the SS Pol Reg 6 were not trapped in the pocket. This creates a very specif...

Divisionsgruppe Aldrian

Hi, during January 1943, a Divisionsgruppe/Kampfgruppe Aldrian was formed at AOK 2 around the staff of the ArKo 124. A source says it had fought at Starij Oskol and had two assault regiments. Info on the composition, battles and fate of this grouping would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Abel

My turn with the translations. This one is from Otto von Knobelsdorff History of the Upper-Saxonian 19. Panzer-Division (Until 31. 10. 1940 19. Infanterie Division) 1958 Verlag Hans-Henning Podzun - Bad Nauheim [excerpt: pages 195 to 206; part one] XIII. Fights in the Ukraine at Millerovo and Starob...

Thanks Lupo,

seems that mine is another Rossi (but it's a common name, isn't it?).

My Rossi seems to be commander of a battalion of the Celere (Bersaglieri?). But he is not important in this case.

Great job Lupo!!!! This gives us some in-depth detail from the Italian side, a much appreciated addition to the resources! Thanks a lot!!! Lupo, any hint about the identity of the Gen. Rossi in the text? I've encountered one officer called Rossi in the Celere Division, but it can't be him, can it? A...

Hi, Marko: the Commisar is a good communist... He has just decided to go back underground, to stop falling into the wrong hands (anyone listening to The Prodigy? :D ) Lupo: 201. StuG Abt was divided into two parts at Rossosch. The larger part, under the command of Huffmann, got trapped in Tschertkow...

Hi Lorenz, thanks for the answer. I am trying to gather a little more data on the engagement of air force support personnel at Pawlograd. At another forum, it has been suggested that "some hundreds Luftwaffe personnel of an airport (under the command of Oberstlt. Weckerle)" were involved in the batt...

Flieghorst Kommandatur

Hi, I'd need data on the structure and numerical strength of a Flieghorst Kommandatur for early 1943. Otherwise said: how many man could a such HQ provide for an ad-hoc ground combat unit? The function of such a unit is not fully clear to me either so a brief explanation would be great. Thanks, Abel
