Re: Manstein on wikipedia

Biter bit eh? Anyway I wonder why anyone bothers with Wiki. The mods are clearly chosen for their stupidity and the gold standard is a 'published' source. Arguing with the buffoons only makes them feel important. No matter how wild your claims are if you can find a book that agrees with you then it ...

Re: Was Dresden a mistake?

The posting history of one here tells me this thread is going to end painfully. The thread will descend into copious source posting by one side and a full repost of that rebuttal with a short dismissal of it all by the other. The object here is not to reach a conclusion but to kep the thread going a...

Re: Was Dresden a mistake?

You may not like it but the US Airforce executed the only raids that really worked. Particularly the attacks on the oil targets were the ones that really affected the german war effort. The RAF area bombing did not prevent german war production going up. There was little difference in the tonnage d...

Re: Was Dresden a mistake?

2) Precision bombardments were done by the US Airforce and they certainly kill less civilians than an area attack 7) The attacks specifically directed against marshalling yards would never kill the amount of people as in Dresden The US AAF did do area/'terror' bombing. They just used the term 'Mars...

Re: W-SS General on late war footage

The newsreels were extensively edited and you will find clips from June still being used as 'new' footage in August. The King Tiger sequence in the Youtube footage was (as said earlier) shown the week of 14th December 1944 (No. 745): http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/1343/kt503.jpg http://img190.im...

The idea of you educating me is really funny. Marc, given your sole aim is troll WW2 Forums under a mountain of aliases I agree the idea of you being 'educated' is really funny. The photo reproduction in Volume 1 is terrible.
Even studio shots of famous Generals are badly rendered.
