I'm afraid the location/time doesn't match. The battle mentioned is at Krasnyi Bor near Leningrad in January 1944.

Batallion z.b.V.454

Reading "Die Geschichte der 24. Infanterie-Division" there is mentioned a Batallion z.b.V.454. Is this one correct or is he really talking about the penal-unit z.b.V.540?
