Does anyone know anything about a Lt. Schiefmann, who ended up in Zedelghem camp 2226, Cage 2? He gave a watercolour of the camp to my grandfather, who was one of the staff (RQMS) at that camp. Does anyone know anything abut the organisation of RASC Field Bakeries, particularly in the 8th Army? I have all the pamphlets, recipes etc. from my grandfather's unit, but I don't know if they were attached to specific brigades, corps or divisions. Unsurprisingly, it's difficult to find information...

Does anyone have any idea of the movements of this unit? My grandfather was SSM with them at one point, and it may be the unit he served with in Greece, Crete, Libya and NW Europe.

As individuals, a lot of them were posted into the infantry after Normandy. This was to make up losses, and also because the risk to the airfields was deemed to be pretty low by that point.
