Mannequin For Sale

I’m looking to sell my full body Webster Displays mannequin (http://www.websterdisplays.com/). It is the ‘Peter’ model. It was purchased during Christmas 2006 and comes with the hardware pack. There is some minor damage to the area where the legs and torso connect, but it does not affect the perform...

Re: Researcher needed urgently for a relative search. Krim 1944

From what I've seen in Kampf und Ende der 98. Infanterie Division, I didn't quite pick anything up. Are you certain he served in Krim? The family of the man I was researching were bent that he served by Stalingrad (Although he never did). I think it was more of an excuse to make up what happened bec...

Re: Researcher needed urgently for a relative search. Krim 1944

Nika, My friend's grandfather also partook in the Krim 1944 evacuation. He was an Unteroffizier in 2./PiBtl.198. It took me a very, very long time to find any information on him (His grave was only discovered in early 2008!). Do you have any photos that belonged to your grandfather? It would be very...

If I'm correct, one half was taken by the NCO or whomever was leading the soldier. That would be kept for records. The other half still attached to the string would stay with the body as long as I know. I think it was occasionally put into the victims mouth. Lets see what others have to say.

IMHO, no. There weren't many fast advances with trench warfare. The warfare itself was very slow, and in that respect, you'd have to dig a new trench (or use the enemies) to move foward. Even though were not talking casulties...it was a complete waste of human life (in terms of warfare) and was led ...

Looking for information

On the history of the 42. Infanterie-Regiment from its start through 1941. Also Pionier-Bataillon 88's history from 1941 through the Crimean Campaign. Both were in the 46. Infanterie-Division. If anyone knows any information on these groups, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! :D Also if anyone knew anything about ...

Units in Crimea

Hi all.

Does anyone have a list of the German units in Crimea, and possibly more specifically, those which were evacuated via naval support from Kerch and the Khersones Peninsula?

Thanks.

Actually, if you look through the photos, there are a bunch of other matches of different soldiers. I found at least two matches of one and three matches of another.

Wilhelm Dertinger

Here is my collection of photos and information on a German soldier named Wilhelm Dertinger. He was in 46. Infanterie-Division, 42. Infanterie-Regiment. After that he was transfered to Pionier-Bataillon 88 within the same unit. He participated in the Polish Campaign of 1939, Western Campaign of 1940...

What period are you reenacting? If your not in an elite unit (ie: Grossdeutschland, Leibstandarte, Das Reich) 1943 + then I highly recommend that you purchase lowboots from Grigsby Militaria. Grigsby also has good jackboots. I'd personally recommend Hessen Antique's Wachtbattalion Jackboots if you d...

Not everything in the Third Reich was spot on. If you look through photos, there are plenty of odds and ends. This may be an example as well. For instance, people sometimes say "The M40 Tunic was first put into production on January 1st, 1940!!!" This is incorrect. That was when it was mas...

No. The symbols would have been removed if it had been. And I've never seen a post war photo of the guy in the same uniform but not in military service.
