Re: Aruba
Hi Danny, It was indeed the U-156 that fired the torpedo that beached. It was during the attack on two Lake-tankers. Later, several Dutch navy men were killed while trying to salvage the beached torpedo in a somewhat unsafe manner. It exploded and I believe three were killed (one officer and two mar...

Re: watchmaker
According to Ladislas Farago in his book "The Game of the Foxes", about the activities of the German Abwehr, the whole story was fabricated by a journalist in New York, who sold these stories to Saturday Evening Post.

Re: Kommandogerat
Hi Peter, Thanks a lot for the information. The information I have is hearsay, but I do know the source: Greve "Die Luftverteidigung von Wilhelmshafen", or a title to that extent. The Kommandogerat 41/L (if it really was that one) was used in combination with the type 6m R range finder, II...

Kommandogerät 41/L
Hi all,
I have found a reference to something called "Kommandogerät 41/L(uft?)", which was fitted to Schwimmende Flakbatterien Arkona and Medusa. The name suggests some sort of fire control system, but what exactly was it?
Thanks,
Visje

Re: Pola
German schnellboote S-151 and S-152 were there. These were former Dutch boats, and I would be very interested to know what happened to them!

Re: Luftwaffe units
Hi Christoph,
It's very helpful, thanks :) Do you have anything on losses these units suffered during May 9 - May 15, 1940? I'm looking into AA claims made by Dutch surface ships during this period.

Can anyone tell me which German Luftwaffe Units were involved in minelaying operations off Dutch ports on May 10, 1940 (and the following days)? TIA,

Re: blokkade runner
Hi all, I think I have found the incident in Brennecke's book. The freighter Weserland left France in Mid september 1942. She was attacked by a Sunderland flying boat, which the ship brought down with her Flak. There were apparently two survivors of the aircraft, which were picked up. One had heavy ...
