Re: Did Rudolph Hess have the hots for Lord Beaverbrook?

I'm curious about the origins of Aussies referrring to Brits as "poms"? I tried to look it up, but nothing. ock: It is spelt POHMS and supposedly stands for "Prisoners of Her Majestey". The thing is, it is a bit rich coming from a nation who's ancestors were a largely convicts. ...

You would want to see some of the school books that kids are being forced to read in England today. Many lay the blame squarely on the Pole which is absolutley ridicilous. People don't realise that Poles were being murdered in Auschwitz long before Jews were being murdered. Birkenau was built for th...

By the way, I was in Plymouth at the weekend watching West Ham United and had a pasty that must have weighed about two stone. It was gorgeous filled with meat and potatos and only cost me £1.50. The down side is that they call everyone "me luvver". (the people, not the pasties that is. :D...

YOu are all heritics. British food is the greatest on God's earth. Roast dinner is simply the best food on the planet. Pies and Cornish pasties are mannah from heaven. Spotted Dick, Bread and Butter pudding or Carrot cake (all served with Birds custard) is the food of kings. It really pisses me off ...

Well, I saw this film just on the off chance one night and was quite impressed. If you take away the historical inaccuracies then it is quite entertaining for a yank film

The other day...

phoned up a really gorgeous ex-girlfriend of mine the other day. We Lost track of time, chatting about the wild nights we used to enjoy together. I couldn't BELIEVE it when she asked if I'd like to meet up and maybe rekindle a little of that magic. "Wow!" I said "I don't know if I cou...

Well I reckon it has to be either Das Boot or Bridge too far. Both showed all sides in a good light I think.

Tin Tin, Herge, The Rexist Party and German Collaboration

Can anybody tell me if there is any truth that Herge (Georges Remi) the creator of Tin Tin, wrote articles for a Rexist Party Publication? I had heard on this forum some years ago that this was the case but cannot find the thread. Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

Just to add to that, the "Guards" title was first conferred on units in late 1942 and had to be earned through exemplary conduct in battle. As well as Guards titles, units were somtimes awarded medals such as the Order of the Red Banner.

Walter Gramzow - Ritterkreuztrager????

Can anybody tell me anything about this man? I was under the impression that he was a knights cross holder but nothing appears of him in the Schnieder book at all. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Comparison of Conscript and Volunteer Armies

I have been reading a lot recently of the BEF during the opening stages of WWI and it has been quoted as the finest and most capable British army that ever went to war. Their musketry skills were second to none and the first time German forces engaged the British their rifle fire was so rapid and ef...

Mr C. Udentz Thanks for your opinion which I respect. I would counter with the fact that von Rudenstedt had no inhibitions about telling Hitler where to get off and was twice relieved of his command for disagreeing with Hitler only to be recalled. In 1941 Rundstedt strongly opposed continuing the ad...
