Never very big on the old Ground Attack thing back then, esp. compared to the Luftwaffe and Red Airforce. I guess as you imply it fell in between the two stools, which was not the way back then. The Mosquito is w/out a doubt a winner, hence the Germans (for once) copying it and calling it the same n...

SM, getting more mainstream all the time, dont worry. That started as far back as John Thaw's excellent portrayal of Harris many years ago, around the time the statue was unveiled. Certainly RAF veterans have no blinkers on any more. The RAF was a strange organisation - then ALL British war plannin...

The firestorms at Dresden and Hamburg were, IMHO warcrimes. Exellent points were made about German production, for which Speer also should get some credit, but also indiscriminate bombings of civilian areas (let alone using phosphorous or napalm) is classed without a doubt in modern times as a warcr...

Correction, better known as Carolus/Karl/Carlos V in history books, even Spanish ones. He was "only" Carlos I of Spain. Yours, Martin nitpicker of London esquire

EDIT: That one anyway.

Charles V of Hapsburg by a country mile. Started ruling stuff around 1515, and United Spain in 1516, truly an Empire on which the sun never set, and for which the phrase was invented.

Fair does sorry if being too verbose, I speculate like yourself that probably in the HJ, hard to avoid as a German in that era, then again they were taking them from the HJ from much younger than that as you imply, no record of being a Flak helper or any of that (yet) so.... :?:

Interesting. Just been crunching the numbers. He must have been 18 when the war ended, called up in "early 1945", so he was in the W-SS for what, four months? And only three-four years older than the Pope. And the HJ were as fanatical in their way, as steeped in propaganda as the W-SS.......

And there was I thinking that Cott Tiger supported Fulham, LOL. Good luck this season Andre. 15er Pz used single tactical numbers in black to just denote the company, as well as the playing cards to define the companies, but only sometimes/not all the time (and not at the same time, obviously), single coy numbers was more common, usually on the side and forward of the turret. Single Coy nos...

How about PzKpfw IB? Yes, photographic evidence from the desert supports this, apart from the PzJg Ib that were with 605er PzJg Abteilung, and the Kl. PzBfWg that you've already put up. I don't think that they were in the front lines though, and the few pictures of PzKw Ibs I've seen are only in th...

Hello David,

PzBfWg III Ausf E & H, the IV was made in 1944.

You seem to have covered all the rest within the paramaters that you laid down.
