The Mussert Cross
Hello, Can anyone shed any light on this somewhat obscure decoration or point me into the direction of a good source (book, link) on the said award? Rough number of crosses made/awarded (if known), overall history of the cross, known maker(s).. Etc. Any input would most welcome. As I understand, the...

WW2 / Third Reich related museums / sightseeing in Berlin
Hello folks, To cut a long story short, I'm off to Berlin for three days and would love to hear your recommendations on places to see & visit. Now, the catch is that I'm going with my gf and don't want to drag her to a half a dozen museums or monuments :) So, if you had to choose one or two plac...

Best "what if" novels?
Hi there,
Just finished reading Robert Harris' "Fatherland" for the third time.. (Excellent book I might add).
Now, I was wondering if anyone could Can recommend other "what if" novels in the mold of the one by Harris? (Nazi Germany winning the war etc.)

Henri Dericourt, a double or a tripple agent?
Is anyone here familiar with the case of Henri Dericourt and if so, what do you think of his exploits in the occupied France? I tend to think the man was acting under the orders of MI6 (without the knowledge of SOE) to feed his German "masters" false information (as had been done in the su...

Worst blunders of WW2, top ten.
How about a list of the top 10 screw-ups of WW2, all nations included? To start with, the debacle of Stalingrad is an obvious choice, the way the flanks of the front were neglected and manned by poor quality Rumanian, Hungarian & Italian troops, which were easily overrun.. then after the circula...

Feldwebel Dreger
Paul Carell mentions in his book "Stalingrad, the defeat of the German 6th army" a certain Feldwebel Erwin Dreger. During the Russian attack on Kharkov on March 1942, Erwin Dreger, a highly resourceful NCO from the 3rd Pz.Div. held a 2km wide frontline with just 15 men. The Germans (all of...
