Re: twin gun mounts
One would think so but I have read (and I regret I can't remember the source) that some naval cannon were mounted on a single trunnion to ease manufacture.

twin gun mounts
Just curious, as a general rule, did German naval twin mounts ( six inch guns and larger ) elevate as a unit or individually?

a "just curious" moment....
How many S-Bootes were lost due to storm damage? Thanks for the help.

Re: Pzkw II cannon
My thanks, Sir (or Madam). I knew it was derived from a semi- or full-auto AA cannon but could never find a reference that mentioned whether this was carried over to the tank mount.

Pzkw II cannon
Was the 2cm cannon on the Pzkw II single shot or automatic? If auto, what was the rate of fire? Thanks for the help.

Re: Kriegsmarine Surface Raiders
The German auxilliary cruiser Kormoran sank the Australian cruiser Sydney off the west coast of Australia in late 1941. Perhaps not a major influence on the war but the action represented the worst loss by the RAN during the war.

Greetings, I have lurked here intermittently for a few years now and decided I'd join. I'm a Pediatrician: no military experience but an interest in history, particularly that of WW2. I look forward to learning a lot from y'all.
