Re: E-Book Plans of Authors & Publishers

Let me join the discussion. At first I was very sceptical for ebooks, but I load one from a buddy of mine and I ended up buying Amazon Kindle. There are many good things with Kindle, as I see it; the e-ink, ability to have tons of books on it and portability. You can take it with you anywhere, it do...

alarmbattalion

What is an alarmbattalion? In an operation against polish insurgents in the Kampinos forrest, germans used three alarmbattalions;

*Alarmbattalion 'H.G.'
*Alarmbattalion 'SS-Totenkopf'
*Alarmbattalion 'SS-Wiking'

Re: "Das Reich" II by Otto Weidinger

Is the battle of Yelnia covered both in volume II and III ? Or just II? If I'm interested in the battle, which volume should I acquire?

Re: books about pre "Bagration" operations against 'Mitte'

hm..seems that we will have to wait for mr Glantz to finish his volume (series?) about Vitebsk. Im not a fan of Kurowskis books, so I will skip that one. Regarding 'Soviet Military Deception', hm this book is from the late 80-ies, so I don't know, maybe if I get it cheap someplace.

books about pre "Bagration" operations against 'Mitte'

I'm looking for books dealing with Soviet operations conducted in late 1943 and early 1944 against H.Gr 'Mitte'. One could maybe call those operations as "pre Bagration" ? Anyway looking for books mostly in English.

Re: After Stalingrad by David M. Glantz

As a result, Glantz in particular, makes many mistakes in his book in regard to the SS and XXXXVIII.Pz K movements and ops, particularly on 8-9 July, when the battle was really decided in the south, when 4 PzA commander Hoth made a mistake in commitment of SS Panzers that was fatal. But well unfort...

Hello Kamen!

I liked your "Fire Brigades" book very much, please keep on with the good work!

As I understood "Entrapment" is on its way - according to amazon.com it will be available in May. When will the others be available?

with regards
Michal

Re: Heer Cavalry Troops

you also have two brigades that where created in 1944.

3. kav.brig
4. kav.brig

They where later upgraded to divisions, although their strength was on brigade level.

They fought on the eastern front:
-"bagration" - 2 AOK
-"konrad" operations
