Well, the worst part was the preparation. Liquid diet indeed. I was an irritable SOB, indeed! The anesthesia was great, though. I was talking to the nurse, who is Australian. I remember discussing Perth, then I woke up in recovery. No nausea, grogginess, or anything like that. Within 20 minutes aft...

Let me say that I am a little taken aback by the amount of good wishes I've received, both in posts and PMs. It was much more than I had a right to expect. Just as an update, I have a colonoscopy scheduled for next week. I found out that they don't even buy you a drink or show you a movie first! :?...

This does have a side benefit insofar that the OKW now has effective co...

Got checked out, got in the car, and immediately lit up. Felt much better. Best wishes Tom, hope it all works o...

Why hasn't Italy been liberated in this alternative? Are the facists still in power in Italy? Seems as if a lot has to happen to have the allies fighting in France but not Italy.

This was raised elsewhere, and I'll reprint here what I posted in asnwer... Van der Lubbe was actually caught with combustibles on his person, including cotton waste and a tin of industrial alcohol...although the Nazis later grossly exaggerated the amount - up to the point it would have needed SEVE...
