Michael,
I maintain listings of most types of non-divisional combat units that I've extracted from a variety of sources. I was hoping that you might have OB listings easily available for 9th Army so that I can update my listings which are available on the web at my Panzerkeil website.

Personally, I'd be grateful for any info on non-divisional units in Italy during this period that you're willing to share so I can update my unit listing in Panzerkeil. I'm particularly interested in any data you might have on Luftwaffe StuG and machine-gun units as my data is somewhat contradictory...

There's a small amount of info on Werfergruppe Krosta at my Panzerkeil website: http://members.tripod.com/~Sturmvogel/Panzerkeil.html. Don't exactly remember if it's on the Obscure Units of the Waffen-SS or as part of the general Nebelwerfer page under Obscure Units of the Heer. I believe that SS-Pa...

The 4th was indeed an independent MG battalion. You can find some info about it on my Panzerkeil webpage: http://members.tripod.com/~Sturmvogel/Panzerkeil.html

The Me 321 was initially towed by a troika of Me 110 fighters. This was rather dangerous and many Me 110s were damaged or crashed during tow missions. The He 111Z didn't enter service until the summer of '42 and it seems that no more than a dozen were delivered. Dabrowski's Messerschmitt Me 321/323 ...

Sid, Green was _the Man_ in English for the Luftwaffe up until the '80s, but further research in the archives has revealed numerous errors. While Warplanes of the Third Reich is a very handy guide to German aircraft, it must be used with caution, especially the operational accounts which I formerly ...

I do not believe that any tanks were delivered by either the Me 321 or 323, but I can confirm that a number of Marder IIIs were delivered to North Africa by Gigants in '42-'43. The Panzer IV may well have actually fit inside their cargo compartment, but I doubt very seriously that the aircraft could...

Personally, I'd term the RS-82 and the R4M rockets as they are unguided, but enough of pedanticism. The 55mm R4M was much more effective than the earlier rockets because an individual aircraft could carry many more rockets than the larger rockets. The Me 262A-1 could carry 24 R4Ms while most Soviet ...

Trey, I've created listings of independent combat units on my Panzerkeil website that you might find of some use. I've extracted the info from a variety of sources including the schematic Kreigsgliederungs and various books. They're organized by unit ID, so they can be hard to use if you're looking ...

Romanian artillery in the Crimea
Sid,
Do you have any information on independent Romanian artillery units in the Crimea? I have some info on their participation in the attack on Sebastopol in June '42, but nothing earlier.

Charles Sharp's Soviet OB books
I'm fairly certain that Charles Sharp began to receive the BSSA during the writing of his Soviet OB books. I believe that he's updated the material in the books as they've been reprinted although I'm not entirely certain of that. Unfortunately Nafziger hasn't noted any revisions at all, if any.
