I was asking on behalf of my friend, who wrote the article in "Militaria XX wieku". We were searching some additional info. Now, we know much more info (from VI. AK documents) as we did in 2004. I would join the discussion at panzer-archiv.de, but I don't write German. If you are intereste...

Kamen, It's possible some elements of II/ PzR 27 took part in this battle. In this area (except of 19.PD) were just remains of 185. StuG Brigade and Panzer Abteilung "Burg" (company sized), so even if they were used as a support, the number of tanks is still to low. Also the commander of I...

Kamen, Thanks for the sources. I have another question: are you sure that KGr Stollbrock had only 10 JP IV? I'm curious, because KGr Stollbrock made 23.07 strong counter-attack on Kuznica Bialostocka (15 km south-west Grodno) and captured the city. Russians write about very large panzer battle there...

Thanks guys, that's really a lot of interesting info. Kamen could you state the source you've got the info from? It's interesting, because Hinze in his book wrote, that I/27 PzR when into action with KGr Beier on 20th of july. Martin - I'm in contact with Krzysztof Mucha. His article is the first pu...

19 PzDiv in summer 1944

I know that 19 PzDiv by the end of july 1944 was transfered from Holand to Poland and fought near Grodno, Warsaw and Magnuszew Bridgehead. Unfortunatelly I know just a little about how they were equipped in tanks this time. According to my sources, at the end of june'44 all 79 of the division's Pant...

228. ID info

Hi,
I'm searching for an info about 228th InfDiv. I have found that it was disbanded after the august 1940. Is it possible to get more info, i.e. to which unit the soldiers went, and why it was disbanded?

Best Regards,
Krzysiek

I'm reading this topic with a lot of interest, and i would post just few sentences. Germans used 19 Panzer Division against Warsaw uprising, because it had to cross the city, to go to the Warka region. 19 was used first in battle at Wolomin-Radzymin (destruction of sowiet 3.Panzer Guardian Korps) no...
