Re: Motorcycle Unit Photo Insignia
Hi Leo, I didn't know about the use of capital I's and j's so I learned something new today. Your Infanterie Geschütz speculation is something I hadn't thought of but sounds logical and is all I can come up with too after thinking it over for a bit. It could add some legitimacy to the speculation if...

Re: Doomsday on December 21, 2012
According to some of the "prophets" it will not be a doomsday at all. They claim we will attain a higher level of conscience and be able to communicate by thought after 21-12-2012. So I guess we will all have the entire content of Feldgrau in our heads and don't need the forum to share our...

Re: Military shops in Holland?
Jopie Dumphandel is probably the best in the region but if it's Wehrmacht stuff you're after don't get your hopes up too high. They may have a helmet and a gasmaskcontainer but that will probably be just about all. Good luck in the 4-Daagse! I was going to walk it too this year for the first time in...

Re: Laufbahn- und Sonderbzeichen
So......after almost two years I've finally found the time to work on this little pet-project again. And immediately have some more questions to ask :D Some of these Abzeichen have a ring embroidered around them and as far as the available sources tell me that means that those functions were also op...

Re: HELP FELDGRAU GROW! WRITE!
Talking about the "other side" or .comside of Feldgrau..........I'm sorry to see that since the transition to the new software it is still more like the "Dark Side" of Feldgrau. Lots of articles have there codes messed up and quite a few links aren't working. I realise it must be...

Re: Motorcycle Unit Photo Insignia
Does anyone know what the "JG" in the circle in the first picture means? and which colours were used for it? (black on yellow maybe?)
I don't recall ever having seen that before.
Thanks in advance,
Paul

Re: Does anyone know the name of the man
Read about his 'event' before but in that version it was about two Waffen-SS men being hanged. There used to be a commemorative plaque of this incident attached to a storefront in the Friedrichstrasse but it was removed after the "Wende". And that probably brings this story into the realm ...

Re: Luftlande - Holland 1940.
Hi Raúl The unloaded airborne-landing troops, who suffered from Dutch machinegun fire too, joint the parachutists and both forces managed to force a major part of the defences into surrender. These men must have had a hell of a time during this fight. The Dutch defensive positions were laid out alon...

Hmm...some countries don't even have an Amazon-site. Amazon.nl doesn't exist but through the Lulu-site I was redirected to their Dutch page and it was available alright and at 21,43 Euro's I think it's quite a bargain! If only I didn't understand any German :( I'd surely buy it :D Excellent work Tom...

Re: Forum for US army questions
Totally amazed by this thread.
I never bothered to check for such forums but always assumed there would be dozens of WWII-US-Army-Feldgrau-Forums out there.
But there really are none
Americans who'll ever understand them?

Re: Die Wewelsburg - Part 1-5
I visited the Wewelsburg in the summer of 2008 and found that it houses a local history museum that is well worth a visit. There is however nothing left that in any way reminds of Himmlers ambitions for the place apart from the round chamber that is shown in the youtubefragments posted by DrStrangel...
