Hello Helmut I hope you understand French. In the french wikipedia you can read about Monaco: L'arrivée des troupes italiennes en juin 1940 inquiète le prince Louis II de Monaco à titre personnel. Il craint une annexion et une destitution. Il se rapproche du gouvernement de Vichy. C'est à Pierre Lav...

Re: Does anyone know my father ?

Hi Just came across this forum in my search to find information or anyone that might have known my father. His name was Deussen. First name he used was either Martin or Albert. All I know was he joined the army in 1939 as an assult soldier, fought on the Eastern front, then was captured by the US i...

It depended very much on the situation. In pocket of Demjansk e.g. the Hygene-situation was very bad, but in time without fights at the front it was much better.

Re: Looking for family relative, died Bogutschar December 19

Am looking for a family member MIA as above. I am unsure where to go to find out whether further information since 1974 has been unearthed, particularly from the russian archives. Anyone able to assist. I have all details available. Come to http://www.vksvg.de in the English-Forum or, if you unders...

Re: Communicating with the Volksbund

I asked (per e-mail) whether the Volksbund has any information about the location of the original German soldier-cemetery in or around Borisovka, Ukraine. I also asked whether the Volksbund has excavated any graves in that area. They did not answer my question but, instead, asked about the birth an...

Re: Feldgrau in 50 years?

hi, I'm wondering what will happen to the Feldgrau forum in 50 years? Will it still be the same format, will all the messages dating back to it's re-start in 2002 be still there? How was Feldgrau 50 years ago? Not a good question  , but what I want to say is: if you think about new tecnologie...

Now I found a little mor information: A HVPl was about 6-10 km behind the front. They was able to look for 25 heavy injured, 60 middle heavy injured or 120 little injured soldiers. If it was able a HVPl was in a building but if not, the division was able to stay in tents. No soldier should stay for ...

It's not so easy to explain, but I will try: Every division hed two "Sanitätskompanien" ad the beginning of the war. Every companie was able to "built up" a "Hauptverbandsplatz" (HVPl) with one or two groups who could make operations and a part for the care of injured s...

I cannot be sure that the term ZUG in this context refers to Platoon or TRAIN. Thanks for all your help. Regards, Helmut Can you give us the whole text? It would be easier then. Or do you have only the short part from Vopersal's book (where Bimingstorfer wrote: ... Ab 18.00 Uhr bis 3.00 Uhr Minen a...

If we put MI's and Rudi's suggestions together we get something like this: From 18.00 to 03.00 mines moved up/transferred to platoon. Several went off. Seems to make sense grammatically but does it fit with your context, Helmut? I think you are right Howard. "Verlegt" musst be the same as...
