While you are squabbling, can I say that the reconstructed photo of the Waffen SS MG crew is from the book "Soldiers in Normandy" by Histoir and Collections. THAT is copyright.

216 Infanterie Division

Hi,
I'm after any info on 216 Infanterie Division, from its formation to its break up and reform to 272 Div. Things I'm after are locations and dates of service. Also, feldpostnummers for the three Infanterie Regiment Stabs Kompanies. 348, 396 & 398.

The issue uniform colour was olive green, typically. These faded out to a sand colour, grey, light brown, faded olive- there are many variations. There are a couple of good colour pic books on the subject that show original uniforms both period and modelled. Try the Kurz books on Afrikakorps.

Hi all, I am new to this forum.
I am down here in Australia
My main interests are the DAK in North Africa and later Armee groups in Tunisia and the med.
I also have an interest in General German military history 1939-45.
I hope to learn and participate with the forum members here!
