Re: ? on Panzerbusche 39 Ammunition pouch

Grüß Gott Mutt71, There was a special ammo pouch for the Panzerbüsche 39. The pouch held 2 of the ammo boxes that you usually see on the sides of the weapon...as Simon mentioned. There are a few wartime photos that show this pouch. I'll see if I can track them down. Here's some artwork done by milit...

Re: General Dietl

Grüß Gott Captnenglish, Is the 200mm bust an old Verlinden one? I have the 54mm Dietl too. I also had a friend of mine in Taiwan sculpt a 1/6th scale head of Dietl for an action figure...just waiting to be painted....here's a photo, but the flash washed out the face: http://img366.imageshack.us/img3...

Re: General Dietl

Servus Captnenglish,

Is the 1/8th scale bust of Dietl a kit for sale or something you sculpted? I'd be interested in getting one if it's a kit.

Re: Show off your collection!!!

Grüß Gott Herr Doktor Krollspell, Yes, that's me with the Hafi, short for Haflinger, an Austrian Mountain Horse. A Standard Gebirgsdivision would have about 550 Haflinger Horses, along with about 1500 regular horses, and about 5000 Mulis...mules. http://img244.imageshack.us/img244/8426/mulirearsgjwe...

Servus Jason,

Maybe we should collaborate on a Gebirgsjäger book together.

Re: Welcome to the forum, tell us about yourself!

Grüß Di' Bergkameraden, I like the fresh new forum. I've been a member since 2005. My area of interest is Gebirgsjägers, as well as other WWII mountain troops. I've been researching and collecting mountain troop militaria for 26 years. Some of you may know my website "Die Gebirgstruppen" (...

As an aside, I'm confused as to when Gebirgsjaeger men did and did not wear steel helmets. In most of the photos they just wear caps, did they have helmets along with them? Sorry if that's a stupid question... Grüß Gott Spiegelsaal, Not a stupid question. As to when Gebirgsjägers wore their helmets...

General der Infanterie Friedrich Wiese

Grüß Di' Kameraden,

Does anyone have any information and/or photos of General der Infanterie Friedrich Wiese who commanded the 19th Army in the Vosges Mountains? Thanks.

Grüß Di' Warspoils,

Hope you didn't pay much for that uniform...it's not from World War II. That is a camo uniform for the post war Bundesgrenzschütz (West German Federal Border Police).
