M.T., The 36th Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS also known as Sonderkommando Dirlewanger was in line during the Warsaw Uprising. Along with some Police/SS units (not sure about these units). The Kaminskie Brigade was fielded with Russians mostly I think, whereas Dirlewanger was fielded mostly with G...

The first hour of that movie was retarded. The orgy/rave/Morpheus as prophet/Neo as god scene almost killed it. Had it not been for the great special effects later in the movie I would give it a big thumbs-down. The head-on with the two trucks was great.

THanks Jerry. I figured he was still considered Luftwaffe, but was sure if he was subordinated to the Heer.

Albert Kesselring Generalfeldmarshall?

In 1940 when Kesselring was promoted to Generalfeldmarshall was he considered Luftwaffe or Heer? According to Axis Biographical Research he is listed with Luftwaffe feldmarshalls, however on Wehrmacht Awards and Decorations for Swords recipients he is listed as Heer.

Thanks in advance,

I to had heard that the 4th Panzer Division earned the highest number of total awards. As far as Knights Cross go I saw somewhere that the Grossdeautschland Division earned the most Knights Cross, or had the most Knights Cross recipients flow through its ranks. Most list show Mantueffel on the GD li...

I would choose Vercingatorix of the Gauls. He had a rather hard task on his hands. Fight the largest, most well trained and best equiped army there was with a extremely loose faction of tribes who would sooner fight each other than the Romans. What a task he had. What courage it must have taken to s...

Hello guys! Most interesting story. I have heard vaguelly about this, but was unaware as to the causes. Has there been a book published about Gille? He seems to have been a very competent general, and highly decorated soldier. Hopefully someone can enlighten us more as to the specifics of this disag...

I agree with you guys. Wiking, Das Reich, Totenkopf, LAH, Frundsburg, Hohenstaufen and I would add the 11th SS Freiwillige Panzer Grenadier Division Nordland to this list. On this same idea would you agree that the II SS Panzer Korps at Kharkov (Das Reich, LAH & Totenkopf) was the strongest korp...
