The 4th Panzer Division was not issued any Sturmpanzer IV, the only unit to be issued Sturmpanzer IVs at Kursk was Sturm-Pz.Abt.216 which had 45 Sturmpanzer IVs. This unit was independent.

Re: Flak 37 Sd.Kfz.7/2

I`m searching for information about the armoured Sd.Kfz. 7/2 with the Flak 37 mounted. As far as I`ve gathered only 123 were produced, but where, when and with whom ( Div.) did it serve? Does any one know? Photos? Some info, starting in Sept., 42 the 5-ton half-track was superseded by the 8-ton as ...

As I said before the 'F2' name was used briefly by the Germans but dropped. The Ausf.F did not have the L/43, the only 'Lang' versions (long gun versions) were the G, H, and J. So the 'F2' and Ausf.G were the same tank, so the 'F2' did exist, but is supposed to be called the Ausf.G.

I seem to recall the so-called Ausf. F2 having a different muzzlebrake than the Ausf. G. All vehicles with a 'ball-shaped' muzzlebrake being refered to as F2 and later vehicles with the 'typical' muzzlebrake being refered to as G. The F2 being an upgunned F1 and only after changing the muzzlebrake ...

Wow great link, I can't find 501 there, but there is.

Festungs-Panzerabwehr-Abteilung 511. But it was disbanded in 1940.

s.SS.Pz.Abt 501 (formerly 101) was deployed in the Ardennes. I guess it would be easy to confuse the Heers heavy battalion 501 with the SS heavy battalion 501. On Dec. 2 1944 S.SS-Pz.Abt. 501 had 45 Tiger IIs the organization was: Battalion HQ had 3 tiger IIs: 007, 008, and 009 1.st company 14 tiger...
