Newbie books

It's not WWII, but the Devil's Guard is about as good a book about the Waffen SS in action as you will find. It's in Indo-China as opposed to Russia, but it is a pretty detailed book.

Devil's Guard

In regards to Waffen SS memoirs, you could count the Devil's Guard as one although many people think it may be a "stretch" in the accuracy department. That said, it is a great read. It is back in print at a website called: http://www.hailerpublishing.com. 8)
