Kaminski Brigade

I recently purchased that book about Kaminski and RONA by Tony Munoz of Europa Books, and was disappointed in the quality of it. It's the most recent edition and was supposed to be "re-typeset" and expanded however it's got a lot of print errors and the quality is marginal. Does anyone els...

My favorite of all time is Pour l'Europe by Robert Forbes, about the French. Magnifique! There's also an interesting book by Christian de la Maziere about his oddyssey into the Charlemagne Division, and subsequent inprisonment in France. Very interesting. It's The Captive Dreamer later reissued as A...

I would imagine the LVF kampfgruppe was attached to the 78th. There was also a police battalion involved, and about 10 tanks I think. The tanks (or Stugs) may have been from the 78th.

I believe on of the French SS volunteers mentioned something about seeing an Irish or English doctor during the fighting in Berlin; I'll see if I can find it.

"For Europe" by Robert Forbes

Has anyone received Robert Forbes updated newer edition of Pour l'Europe, about the French volunteers of the Waffen SS?

I had a hell of a time trying to order it from Amazon; they never did come through. Curious to know how much more info has been included.

I have a reference to an Unterscharfuhrer by the name of Peterhof who allegedly recorded 80 kills as of 13 April 1945. He was with the 32nd SS Div.

Also what may add to the mythos is the BILOM unit--people may hear about that and get confused.

Paddy--what is the source of the B&W photo? It's a print of an image in the collection of a friend of mine who is one of the foremost collectors of foreign volunteer armshields and insignia. I did not credit it for a number of reasons. The image itself is a fairly commonly reproduced KB/PK phot...

I have seen this photo also being described as 'a panzerjagdkommando at Pyritz' btw... fons Robert Forbes mentioned the bit about the film clip of Charlemagne unloading from lorries and that French inscriptions can be seen on the back of the lorries (i.e., trucks); in the pic I posted I noticed tha...
