Hey. My grandfather also was in Die Organization Todt (he found it boring and joined the SS). The only war-time picture I've seen of him is where he is standing in front of a building in his Org-Todt uniform (apparently, it was taken 60km outside of Berlin). His uniform is different to the others in...

Zell Am See

Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone could give me the names of American divisions who occupied Zell Am See after the war. I know a veteran who was captured there by Americans whilst he was recovering from wounds sustained in Lithuania (Apparently, Zell Am See was like a resort for wounded soldie...

Why didn't someone come out with a better way to identify a soldier's blood group for the W-SS men? You could just avoid the tattoo altogether. How about getting sick? I know a veteran who avoiding getting the tattoo, since he got sick whilst they were being tattooed. It really helped, since being ...

Since SS-Hauptsturmführer Fiedler was not a Knight's Cross bearer, does anyone know of his higest decorations? Did he, for instance, recieve the German Cross in Gold, any Close Combat Clasp etc.? Well, I don't know of any high awards, but I guess he would have recieved a Black Wound Badge. I was in...

I don't think those soldiers are German. Vollounteers from a foreign legion, perhaps? Also, I think that those who crewed halftracks wore the same uniform as everyone else.

Cheers.

You played 'Medal of Honor: Spearhead'? On the loading screen for multiplayer maps, there is a picture in the background on a bloke firing an MG42 on his mate's shoulder. Not the most professional source, but it's funny where you find them.

Cheers.

6 Photos, Surgery behind the Front, Russia, undated. This may seem a little stupid, but are you sure, dude? Look at where they're operating on the fellow. Also, note the lack of blood all over the place. If you are not absolutely certain that these are pictures of an operation on a combat wound, ma...

Thanks Krollspell. Does anyone have any information on Fiddler? Because if you do, that'd be great! Also, can anyone confirm anything about Joachim Ziegler's character?

Cheers.

No takers, hey? Well, what about the name of the Nordland commander at that time? I was interviewing a veteran on the weekend who reckons this guy (unlike Fiddler, who was a great officer) was a pig. Apparently, he even shot his driver!

Cheers.

"Where the Iron Crosses Grow"? I take it you've seen 'Cross of Iron' or that you play Hearts of Iron, as mentioned here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/sho ... hp?t=78505

Hey all, I think you also need to understand that these veterans would be very weary of those who call themselves "researchers" who categorise Waffen-SS and even Wehrmacht as die-hard Nazis, and fear what these people may do to them. I say that if anyone wants an address from you, get that...

Looking for a Nordland officer

Can anyone give me any information on a man named 'Fiddler' (not sure on the spelling) who served in Nordland at least between October and December 1945. I believe he was in the 23rd regiment. He was wounded in the right arm in December of 1945, and was an Oberleutnant (or SS equivalent) at the time...
