Re: ONLY 1 (one)

Hi,

my preferred memoir is maybe H.Werner's Iron Coffins, about the author's experiences as a submarine crew member and later as commander, very exciting.
Among the best unit history in english, Fish's PzRegiment 8 is very well written and full of personal accounts

Hi Enrico, the german staffel used for torpedo operations in the BS was 6./KG26. They were active with 2-3 aircraft in armed reconnaissance, above all around Odessa. the only confirmed success I have found is an attack by 6./KG 26 on 16.10.41 with the sinking of the steamer Bolshevik (1412 GRT). Pos...

Hallo, I’m deeply interested in anti shipping operations in the Med and about the torpedoing of the Cameronia, I’m not sure that she was torpedoed by U-565. Convoy KMS 5 was under attack by U-Boot already on the 21.12 and OKW claimed a large ship sunk and another damaged, the ship sunk was the troop...

Hi to all, the only possible german success with torpedo in the battle for Creta in May 1941 could be the attack on convoy AN30 on 9 may 41, with the 5000 BRT Rawsley hit by one torpedo, both II/KG26 and 281. Squadriglia participated in the action and claimed the hit. Rawnsley was bombed and sunk 3 ...

Hi, the number of 111 contains only tank kills even though is a personal count of Friesen itself. Friesen was only 20, but saw much action in Russia 1943, Normandy and the final battles in Hungary and Wien and won the tank assault badge "75", so a high number of kills is plausible alessandro
