Sturmgeschutze school at tours
I've recently read that ni Tours, France, there were a training center for Stug units.
Wich unit was there? Wich equippement did they use for trainig? Are there any pictures?
Did this training unit participate in any combat? Perhaps as an improvissed last hour unit?
Many thanks

employment of the 251,250 SPW's in normandy
Units like Panzer Lehr and 21st panzer division were equipped with SPW's ( sdkfz 251, 250 or somua half traks) in both infantry regiments, and the rest of the armoured panzer divisions also had at least a kompanie o battalion equipped. So probably the SPW's were the most numerous armoured vehicle in...

Remote Kompanie 316 and Lehr in June 1944

Re: 17pz and 23rd panzer during relief of stalingrad
Hi panzer 88 There were nothing like 23 panzer grenadier division, I imagine its an error and is talking about 23rd panzer division. The Luftwaffe divisions sent to the front were the 7th and 8th. Asfik they were not involved in the relief attempt but in the fighting to the north and as a result of ...

Re: Tiger losses of sPzAbt GD on the Eastern Front
Well certainly Igorn tends to reflect the German defeats. But some times the answers and other opinions create interesting issues. Tigers design was older than the JS 2 or the ISSU SP guns armed with 122 or 152mm guns. Tigers were created to kill T-34's or KV 1's and resist the fire of their guns. I...

Was this the strenght of these units just before the operation in november-december ??
A batterie of 243 stug abt is cited as taking part in "sturmgeschutze vor" . The rest of the abt was encircled in Stalingrad and destroyed there.
