My namesake has had too many close calls to survive this battle anyway. Though it would seem nice for the seemingly eternal duo, Hansen and Arajs, to make it through. 8)

Perhaps it's a question of when and where. The Germans were formidable opponents in Sicily, the rest of the Italian campaign, Normandy to some extent, yet by '45, most units only exist on paper. Taken as a whole, the Red Army would probably seem the most formidable to the common landser, as the like...

After a LONG Feldgrau hiatus, I come back to see a new Forum Hero tale. Magnificent! I just hope the Rolling Stones don't sue for royalties in this one.

Great story Commisar! The setting is a bit more interesting than the previous ones(to say they were boring at all). I am still muddling along with my own, though the banning of two prominent figures will make the irony lost on some readers.

Well, like CY, I'd be against anything that would form a clique. Also, one has a new appreciation for them one actually writing one, as having the discipline to stick to it and keep up the story takes more than expected.

Part 9 The Puma stopped in front of Feldwebel Paulus' trenches. Emil and Jan jumped off the rear deck and scurried into the waiting arms of their comrades. Kurt and MH had to jog their memories a little to remember the men who caused the joyous meeting. The impromptu reunion was interrupted as Paulu...

Part 8 Moving a large body of men and equipment undetected was no mean feat. Unfortunately, in Major Mendeleev's case, he was no longer "undetected". A company of supporting infantry had run into a German position and had been driven off. There was no way to prevent this from happening aga...

Phylo, you cannot be fooled. Both the T34/85 and most models of U-boats ran on diesel engines. And diesel engines were originally designed to run on a variety of fuels, including vegetable oil.

Onto you.......
