This is the view of Omaha Beach from Hein Severloh's MG 42 position. To the left is the observation post used by the artillery observers fo...

Re: Unknown German Ordnance Vehicle

This prototype vehicle was known as the Schweres Minenraumfahrzeug (Mine destroyer vehicle). Another name for it was the Krupp Raumer-S. It was built by Krupp in 1944 and weighed 130 tonnes. It was powered by a Maybach HL 90 engine. I don't know anything about it's history at all.

I've been looking for a copy of "Kampfgeschwader Lutzow" for ages. It tells the story of a Heinkel III unit in Poland 1939.

They were used by the heavy platoon of each motorized Aufklarungs detatchment. The platoon was usually split up to provide support to the smaller armoured cars such as the SdKfz 222.

I was told by Friedrich Wacker, who served as a corporal in the "Totenkopf" and "Reichfuhrer SS" divisions, his reason for joining. He used to live near the Reichskanzlei in Berlin and remembers seeing the SS changing of the guard ceremony almost every day during the '30's and wa...

Yes, the French did use Panthers after the war. The Syrians used Panzer IV's against the israeli's in the 1968 war and the Swiss used Hetzers for a long time after the war.

Hey, that's two of you that have slagged off "Allo Allo". It was a brilliant series. You must remember that it is a comedy series based on British ideas of German stereotypes. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Leutnant Gruber and his "little tank"! The thing that annoys me i...
