New Kursk book! "Objective Ponyri!"
Hi guys, I just want to let everyone know about my publishing house's forthcoming release called "Objective Ponyri! The Defeat of XXXXI. Panzerkorps at Ponyri Train Station". The author, Martin Nevshemal, a former USMC Captain and S-2 (Battalion Intelligence Officer), has used his analytic...

Re: New Jason Mark book!
Looks promising and coverage of a battle that has been long overdue, in the English language at least. Any news on the Pi.Btl 305 book that was adverised as Jason's next book in the back of his last venture, Croatian Legion? Hi Kevin, I had to push back the Pi.Btl.305 book so that I could complete ...

Re: New Jason Mark book!
I have been wondering if J. Mark has thought about delving into the other major sieges: Crimea, Lenningrad. I definitely have considered both of these campaigns. Certain aspects of the Leningrad battle are of intense interest to me: the Mga bottleneck, Sinyavino Heights, the Kirishi bridgehead, etc...

Re: New Jason Mark book!
Hi guys, Wow, news spreads fast! I came on here to announce my latest title and discover that there's already a thread! Indeed, my next book is not about Stalingrad. I must say that it was refreshing to step away from Stalingrad for 6 months while I worked on Cholm. Anyway, if you're interested in t...

Hi guys, I just wanted to let everyone know that my latest book is at the printer and I expect to take delivery in early September. The book is called "Besieged: The Epic Battle for Cholm" and covers Kampfgruppe Scherer's struggle to hold Cholm from January 1942 until their liberation in M...

Re: Croation Legion By Jason Mark
Hi Nicolai, Yes, there are quite a few first-hand accounts. Officers who survived the battle often compiled detailed reports about the experiences, and these have been used to add flavour to the information taken from official reports. Now, I hate to blow my own trumpet but no-one else is going to d...

Re: New book about Croatian Inf.Rgt.369
I hate to blow my own trumpet but no-one else is going to do it for me, so here goes. Croatian Legion has just received a really favourable review from Stone and Stone: http://stonebooks.com/archives/110313.shtml I think the final paragraph is worth quoting: Croatian Legion is such an exemplary book...

III./Pz.Rgt.7
Hi,
Does anybody have any information about III./Pz.Rgt.7, particularly a list of its officers? In 1942 the battalion was transferred to Pz.Rgt.36 to become its III. Abteilung. Is the date of this known? Any and all details greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Jason

New book about Croatian Inf.Rgt.369
I just wanted to let everyone know about the release of a new book about the Croatian Infanterie-Regiment 369, which met its fate in Stalingrad. http://www.leapinghorseman.com.au/prodimages/9780975107683_large.jpg Here's the blurb: Soon after Germany invaded the Soviet Union, the leadership of the n...

Re: Croation Legion By Jason Mark
I wonder if Jason did mentioned about how the Croatians managed to get their mistresses as well as the nurses out of the pocket This was a myth, so no mention at all in the book. Didn't this story come from Beevor? Anyway, here's a covershot: http://www.leapinghorseman.com.au/prodimages/97809751076...

Re: Feldgrau Author: Jason Mark
Hi guys, My latest book is now at the printer. I co-wrote it with Amir Obhodas, a talented historian and archivist from Croatia. It's about the Croatian Infanterie-Regiment 369, which met its fate at Stalingrad. I'll post full details in the book section but here's the cover: http://www.leapinghorse...

After a long time, I can once again announce some new releases from Leaping Horseman Books. First up is translation of a Russian book called "Turning Point." This book was released a few months ago but because I've been so busy getting the next one done, I haven't been able to devote as mu...

Hi guys, It's been a long time since I posted here. It's been a very busy time for me and Leaping Horseman Books. About two months ago I released a translation of a Russian book (called "Turning Point") and have just now completed a large photo volume about Stalingrad called "Angriff....

Re: Oberleutnant in Stalingrad
I'm the author of "Island of Fire". I put a lot of time and energy into finding any information about Oblt. Wilhelm Willmitzer... it was difficult, and not too much was found. I was in contact via email with one of his relatives (a niece or grand-niece), but despite her initial willingness...
