Re: re stalag 1377

Who says we're not at war with Russia! 75% of the international crime currently plaguing the West originates in Russia or from the hands of the Russian Mafia. We are being slowly destroyed by criminals without a shot being fired.

Not a Kriegslazarett. These were all numbered between 501 to 943.

Re: re stalag 1377

diverden - I just checked this reference that contains all of the Wehrmacht units in France by city, town and village and there is no entry for Avesnes or for Avesnes-sur-Helpe. France is in Teil 4, pages 35 - 138, 103 pages, 3 columns per page. Tessin, Georg. Verbände und Truppen der deutschen Wehr...

Re: re stalag 1377

There was no Stalag 1377 (4-digit numbers were not used), 137 or 377. However, there was a Frontstalag numbered 137. It was formed 18 August 1940 in Wehrkreis IV. There is no record of its employment. On 22 March 1941 it was renamed Dulag 137 and transferred East for the forthcoming attack on the US...

Re: NARA Rolls - FTP Server

Sam - Welcome to the club. I have attempted to use these FTP server sites off and on for the past 6 years and it is a frustrating, tedious and time-consuming job that more often than not turns out unsatisfactory. Maybe it has something to do with the size of the file, I don't know. Dropbox may be th...

Re: Feldgrau's Future

So few use the site anymore, moderators have become redundant. Axis History Forum is rapidly approaching the same fate. The old high traffic days of the 2000 - 2010 decade are long gone and will not return. My contention is that most of the clientele were siphoned off by social media, particularly ...

Re: Deutsche Militärmission in Rumänien, 1940

Hi CNE EMB,

Go to this website and in the menu on the left side of the page click on "Order Reproductions". Be very specific about what you want: Record Group 242, Microcopy T-405, roll 49.

Basically, the 100-series units were for intelligence gathering, i.e., setting up agent networks, inserting moles in enemy resistance groups, spying, etc. The 200-series units were for sabotage and commando operations behind enemy lines. The 300-series units were for counterintelligence, i.e., uncov...

Re: Me-109 pilot strafed in his chute, 1944 ?

You are best advised to go to the website given below as there are members there who have data bases of all Luftwaffe losses as reported in the Gen.Qu.(6.Abt.) Verlustmeldungen and the unit casualty reports. When German aircrew were strafed in their chutes of just after descending, it was almost alw...

Re: Luftwaffe Flight From Russia to China.

Hi Simon G., I am now too old and otherwise occupied to spend time on this anymore, but I certainly encourage you to pursue the fuel drum and plutonium threads back to their point of origin, i.e., when and how they came to be on the island, provided those photos are of Matsuwa. Those drums of fuel c...
