Visor caps were worn by all ranks. Look at wwiidayabyday.com in the uniform section for examples.

Re: Head protection in panzers?
At first they had the berets with padding inside if them. The beret's came out of service in 1940(?) and from then on tank crews wore soft caps. They had their helmets for wear when outside the tank, but if you look at pictures most, if not all show Panzer crews wearing soft caps.

44thID Regimental and Bn Stabs formed IAW which KStNs
Under what KStN were the 44th ID's Infantry regimental stabs (IR 131 and IR 134) formed under in 1944?
Under what KStN were the Infantry battalion stabs in Ir 131 and IR 134 formed under in 1944?
Online sources, since don't have time to get books.
Thanks,
Jeff

I was informed that it was Hauptmann. Is this a myth or fact? Please site your reference, if you can. 2. Also, are there any Gener...

Actually it is fairly easy for Heer and Lft. Except for movies, who frequently do not care about getting it right. For enlisted, trim on bottom of collar of field uniform, NCO. Pips and trim on shoulder boards denote actual rank. Officers to Colonel (Oberst) all have same collar design. Different de...

The hat with the appropriate branch color piping (waffenfarbe) would be worn by all officers as part of the service uniform. The Model 1934 Officers Field cap was similar in design, but made differently, also had branch piping and was worn frequently in the field until the end of the war, even thoug...
