Re: Luftwaffe Badge ID

Looks like a flak Oberfeldwebel who has seen service in the Condor Legion to me.

Re: unit flag

It's obviously a Fallschirmjaeger pennant, but I can't narrow it down, and I'm not sure it's a unit flag. The Fallschirmjaegers were known collectively as 'The Green Devils' so perhaps the devil on a pitchfork represents that. I'm wondering if it's only semi-official.

Re: Waffen SS Colour Photo Name Translation

The badge on the left looks like a wound badge (silver?), and the other is a General Assault Badge. He may be wearing a Close Combat Bar (above the breast pocket), but it seems to have come unpinned (?)

Re: German uniform

The collar patches are as worn by Wermachtbeamten personnel (Administration Officials). It's hard to tell what type of epauletts he's wearing, but taking into consideration the very elegant cut of his tunic and his splendid office I would venture a guess that he was Stabsofficiererang (Field officer...

Re: Pic from WWII of 3 uniformed guys

The 'feldmutz' worn by the soldier on the right is an M38, and is common to most units. The Waffenfarbe is obviously not white so that rules out infantry. Many other units wore a rose pink waffenfarbe (if indeed that's what it is), but it's impossible to narrow it down any further for certain withou...

Re: SS-Sonderkommando Dirlewanger

I'll answer as many questions as I can. The field cap is quite correct as it's a 'crusher' style. The 'crossed rifles' patch was worn 1944-45. (An 'unauthorised' patch of crossed grenades also existed, 1945) The tunic seems to be M36. The epaullets are silver with the usual white waffenfarbe. A poin...

Re: who have the photo of General von Siegroth

After being replaced as CO by General der Infanterie Theodor Busse on 5 April 1945, von Siegroth remained with 712 Div. After the third breakout attempt from the 'Cauldron' he was pronounced MIA on the 2 May. He was posthumously awarded his Oakleaves on the 9 May 1945.

SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment 2, 18.Aufklärungs-Kompanie.

The laurel wreath was standard LAH insignia 1943-45.

Date? Only a guess, late in the war - Ardennes - as part of XXXIX Korps, 5. Pz. Armee.

The criteria for EK2 award...
outstanding service of combatant personnel and for bravery in the face of the enemy.

Almost 5 million EK2's were awarded between 1939 and 1945, so verification is easiest from Soldbuch entries.
