Have just comne across this photo showing Soldiers with a ZB30 and a SVT so i assume Eastern Front
However the guy on the left looks very Ungerman and almost Mediterranian.
Is anyone able to offer any info or opinion as i cant make out the Cap or Helmet insignia

The trouble is knowing somewhere to start.
Is it worth looking in the Bundesarchiv for information as i know there are links to some researchers who you can pay to source info.

On his second ID Card, his unit is listed as L46385
Can anyone advise what this represents

I have his name, date of birth, number and regimental details
Just thought it would be interesting to find out the hisotry of his military career
