Blue Division - Conference in Madrid

This month there is going to be a conference in Madrid about the Blue Division. It's quite interesting since they managed to get there most of the best historians on this division. It will last 3 days (27, 28 and 29 of October) and just about everything will be discussed there in several comunicatio...

Re: Feldgrau Author: John P. Moore

Your work is truly impressive John, i hope you continue to expand it, since it is vital that our global history isn't lost in time. The SS is always a controversial theme, but one should not forget that history is always controversial and our role should be to preserve as much as possible so that fu...

Personalausweis

Hi to all, Does anyone know if the documentation related to the "Personalausweis" is stored in Germany (Ba-Ma) or in the USA (NARA)? I'm interested in the Personalausweis der Spanischen Divison Nr 250, over 47.000 volunteers got trough this unit and all of them had its Personalausweis. Tha...

Re: U-83 KTB

Thank you Howard, you did a great work with this translation.
It matches what the official records say about this sinking, now i'll translate your translation to Portuguese and ad it up to the paper.

Regards

Ricardo

Re: U-83 KTB

Thanks very much for the translation Howard, and for the add-ups from both kurt74 and Hans. I believe it the translation is very close to the original, which unfortunately is very difficult to read. The story of this sinking is very interesting, since it had a great repercution in Portuguese public ...

U-83 KTB

Hi to all, im writing a paper on portuguese vessels sunk during world war two and i've come upon the KTB of U-83, which sunk Portuguese neutral ship "Corte Real" on 12 of October 1941. I would like to ask for your help on translating the report of Werner Kraus on the action leading to the ...

U-Boat War Patrol Records at NARA Ba-Ma

Does anyone knows if there is a guide for U-Boat War Patrol Records on NARA or Ba-Ma online?
I'm searching for the War Patrol Reports of 6 U-Boats: U-83, U-94, U-96, U-108, U-123 and U-203.

I'll appreciate any info on this subject.

Von Rhoden Colection

In the last days of war in europe, scores of documents were lost, and the luftwaffe was probably the branch of the wehrmacht that lost the most. So, i was surprised when i got through the list of this colection and the sheer amount of documents it contains. Von Rhoden was a german general that was w...

Re: The 250 ID - Krasny Bor 1943.

During the Kransy Bor battle, at least one portuguese was captured, he was José Alberto Rodrigues Esteves, a soldier from the I.R. 263, who was caught on 10-02-1943, and released in 1954... I'm also going trough the personal files and believe that a few others may have been killed/wounded during tho...

Re: Maps (no not the ones Jason was selling)

Check out TARA: http://aerial.rcahms.gov.uk/worldwide/ they have a good data base of aerial maps taken during the second world war, and plenty of maps from germany. May be you'll find there something useful.

Re: German Division Numbering System

Interesting post Tom,
do you know if there was any special reason for the Spanische Freiwilligen Division to get the number 250?
Or was it just a matter of numeric sequence?

Re: Spanische-Freiwilligen Kompanie der SS 101

There were very few spanish in the SS, nonetheless they are refered as having been with so many famous units, that it is very difficult to be sure where the truth starts and the myth ends. Unfortunately, most of what we read is personal accounts of people that usually weren't even there and have no ...
