It would appear German Agents had the Norden bombsight blue prints, they improved it and had their own design. An easier to use and better working bombsight.

This gives a little more about Cornelius Rost. He seemed to want to stay out of the spot light. He had some fears authorities might turn him over to the Russians again or the Russian might do something to him.
